I visited the ice castles in New Hampshire a few years ago and had such a wonderful time. We even went down the ice slide. The ice formations were breathtaking.

Lisa, it is a castle like structure built using hundreds of thousands of icicles. There are frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, and fountains inside the castle.

Wow! that Ice Castle was amazing! I am from Maine and that is something that is always possible. All you need is water from a broken pipe and nature will take its course! The frost line can be as deep as 6 feet and it can get 30 below zero. The ice on the pond can be over a foot thick. Great for ice skating, not so much fun for ice fishing.
