Great shot! I have visited the falls and the park countless times. It is commonly very dry in mid-summer, but the rest of the year there is much water and mist. There is a nice trail running up the watercourse from the lake to the base of the falls, and a more challenging trail up the ridge on one side, around the top, and back down the ridge on the other side. There is also a parking area with picnic tables and a large overlook part way up the north side from which the photo may have been taken, so you need not be a hiker to be able to see and appreciate the falls.
