A Fragile Reflection – Svínafellsjökull Glacier, Iceland

Following the trail where the mossy earth meets the water’s edge, looking out toward the jagged, ash-stained ridges of the Svínafellsjökull glacier as it flows from the vast Vatnajökull dome!

Location: Svínafellsjökull Glacier Trail, accessed via Route 998 just off the Ring Road (Route 1), within Vatnajökull National Park, South Iceland region of Iceland. (View on Google Maps and More on Iceland).

Time and Date: Around noon on June 20, 2025.

      Thanks! I only walked up to the viewpoint, but my son went a little further in. The views were incredible, and we saw some people way up there!
