A Fragile Reflection – Svínafellsjökull Glacier, Iceland

Following the trail where the mossy earth meets the water’s edge, looking out toward the jagged, ash-stained ridges of the Svínafellsjökull glacier as it flows from the vast Vatnajökull dome!

Location: Svínafellsjökull Glacier Trail, accessed via Route 998 just off the Ring Road (Route 1), within Vatnajökull National Park, South Iceland, Iceland.

Time and Date: Around noon on June 20, 2025.

Our Visit: Svínafellsjökull Glacier in South Iceland: Icebergs, Glacier Tongue & Hiking Views.

      Thanks! I only walked up to the viewpoint, but my son went a little further in. The views were incredible, and we saw some people way up there!
